Voltage drop

does anyone sell a "REAL" 12vdc = 6vdc voltage drop ? the ones i have found only bring it down to 10vdc . ...... thank you

If you don't need more than 1 amp you could use an electronic voltage regulator, LM7806. The input voltage is 8 to 35 volts with a constant 6 volt output. They are less than $5. Thats what i used on a friends 37 Packard I was working on. Someone converted it to 12 volt and the fuel gauge didn't like it. The gauge reads accuratly with the regulator.

thank you all . i learned some from this . i really appreciate your help . thank you .. steve

If anyone is in the NJ area and ever needs help with building something like this or anything electrical / electronic please let me know. I'll be more than glad to help out.

MRTUBE ,
why is it that the voltage drops i can buy only drop to 10v instead of 6v as advertised ? just curious ................. thanks

Steve,
Do you have any examples of this? I am unaware of any common devices which use 10 volts. 3.3,5,12,15 are common.
