visor installation

Finally got the vinyl on my visor after many years without! When installing it on my 29 coupe do you place any type of sealer between the visor and the header to keep water from seeping in there?

Originally there was no caulking or "dum dum" that I know of that was in that area but it would not be a bad idea if you were to place a small film of black, non-harding permitex in that area.
