How about an IPAD?

Our local AACA chapter does both. I get the eCopy, and then a couple of days later I get the printed copy. I suppose that if I really wanted the printed copy, I could just print it out, thereby keeping HP in the ink business. Both of the local antique car clubs I belong to are going paperless for the monthly newsletter...
Hi Jeff,AS one after another quit the ink and paper business, and I see in the news that SI will be doing so soon.......
Model A News is going to cheaper and thinner paper for the cover and content.
I don't care for all of it but I guess that is the way it is. The Model A publications that you get in the mail and can hold in your hand are still preffered at least at my house. They are the main reason for belonging to the Natl. Clubs. Outside of the bi-monthly mag the common guy doesn't really benefit that much from belonging.
Guess I'll just hang onto my issues and keep re-reading them like I do Ford Life. 50 plus years of The Restorer makes a heck of a lot of good reading. If it goes to too cheap of paper or on-line only I will have to quit the clubs. Sorry.
As far as online news goes, sources like Yahoo, MSN, etc. are a big joke! Sloppy writing, little regard for accuracy, poorly researched, about like living on nothing but Cheese Puffs! Plus, if you want to watch a video clip of some news item, you have to suffer through their commercials. At least with a newspaper you can skip over and not read the ads if you so desire, and on TV you can channel surf during the commercials; you're not a captive audience. Besides, nothing beats curling up in your favorite chair with a good book/magazine on a cold winter's night or rainy afternoon. Ever tried to curl up with a good PC monitor?! Just not the same.
Anyone remember when we used to subscribe to Hemmings Motor News, and if it didn't arrive on the 23rd go totally nuts? Think I quit that about 20 years ago, but still have all the old issues in the attic starting with April 1963. I should explan to the young guys that back in the early '60's you had to know someone in the hobby to get a peak at an issue of Hemmings, newsstands were Hot Rod, Car Craft, Motor Trend, and Car & Driver pluss all those "Little Page" car magazines. Only subscription I have is AACA (NO I'm NOT a ----ing Yuppie) and a buy two car magazines a month off the rack. I find the daily website visits far more educational, and intertaining than most print matter.
