vinyl top on Tudor sedan

Just got my chicken wire on nice and tight. Thought I checked the curves good but missed the metal rib above the door being a little high, probably less than 1/4". If I try to come-along it down by wrapping a flat strap will it kink or will I be albe to pull it down a bit?

No picture ability. I installed all new wood above the doors and the rib in the metal channel sticks up above the channel an even 1/4" all the way across. Standing back in all directions it looks like the center third is too high - looking again probably 3/16" or less.

I quess I sort of hijacked this thread from vivionary and apologize. I found my problem and got it fixed. I now remember some one mentioning seeing the door post rib channel area too high in new installed tops. I checked all my new ribs against each other and they were dead on, I also recall installing the rib in the center channel and when I put the three screws in, the ends of the wood rib were slightly gapped and thought that wouldnt make a difference, tightened down the screws - wrong. I am not sure if the channel had the wrong curvature or if the fact that it was in compression made a slight bell shaped profile. I took the metal rib out and sanded down the middle of the wood rib and now have a correct profile with the rest of the ribs, of course time will tell if I got it right when I get the top on.
