I have photos of the slop that I drained out plus the inside of the rad if someone would post them for me.
Tales from the dark side , Did the vinegar thing at 5% for a week or about 800 miles of driving with my summer beater - 33 5w . Yeah a lot of ugly-smelly crap came out and after flushing and neutralizing with baking soda I now have leaks in 5 places on the motor . Both mounts,1 waterpump , the other waterpump to head gasket & last but not least one of the expansion plugs on the pan rail . The last is by far the most troubling as it is leaking outside AND INSIDE so it is letting a little water in the oil . This car had been sitting since the early 50's and was brought back to life last spring . I had the heads off and they are aluminum and they don't leak . It'll be some time B4 I do this to myself again . Car is parked till I can pull the pan and fix leaks . Kinda crappy to do something to help it and it takes it out of service .David J
Thanks jdl for the kind words and Mikey , Sorry bout da winin but after reading Clems post about a leak starting I figgerd I should share this . Had almost 5,000 miles on this car this summer and never added water to it . Did the vinegar thing and now crapolla . Five leaks that weren't there before . I find it hard to believe that this hasn't happened to others . OR am I the only one dumb E-nuff to admit itDavid J
