Ok, before I'm thrown out on my ear hear me out. My 29 coupe is anything but a show car and the 25 year old door panels and clips are loose and rattling to beat the band. Thinking about just using velcro behind the panels. Input?
What are thinking of doing exactly? Glueing one side of the strip to the door and the other side to the panel? Is there engough room to do that? Would the panel stick out too much from the door.
My 30 Coupe is also a driver and the panels are worn and the clips do not hold very well any more so I'm intrigued by your suggestion.
Hey Dick, hows it going? Sounds like its time to go to Home Depot and get some PLC 2000 glue in a tube. Place some glue between the panel and the door, and then clamp it! Good luck you 2 and let me know how it works out, as I may need to do that as well....
Lebaron Bonney will sell you a small bag with new panel clips for nominal sum and you can replace all the bad ones. That's what I'm doing.

Evan Lewis
Velcro may be the answer for fastening the door panels on the Briggs Body Fordors, as the panels were originaly attached to the door using small nails. A pain to say the least.
Welp, a bit unconventional but I'm going to try it. Hell we use velrcro to secure chopper seats on the bikes. Ill pull the doors apart and see ifin its even possible. If so Ill take some pics of the process, in this case the advantages are outweighing the purity of using original equipment for this particular runner.

Before trying Velcro, take a look at the back side ot the door panel. Most repop panels are drilled with many clip holes and rarely are they holding all the clips. The doors have many holes as recepticals for the clip and maybe you could move them around to get a better fit and hold. When I installed the panels on my coupe I did not use every hole as the panels seem to fit pretty snug. One bottom corner on the passeger side started to pop out when a passengers exited, so I replaced it with a spare clip and added another adjacent to it and no more problems.
The bigger trouble is with the cardboard backing getting soft from moisture or worn out from multiple removals.
Please let us know how you make out. Pictures, as you have indicated, would also be great. In reading Farrell's comments I can relate to the cardboard bing worn to the pint where the clips won't stay in the holes, so I am very interested in your success.
