Vapour Lock

I have a 35 ford 21 stud stockV8 and recently when the weather gets into the 70+ range and the engine is hot and idling at a long light, it starts starving for fuel when I take off. Pumping the gas and getting the revs up helps to make the missing go away within a couple of blocks.
Does this sound like the so-called vapour lock and if so, where is it and what can I do about it?
Thanks for any assistance. Also, does anyone know where I can get an original rad cap for the 35.

Thanks

The archives should have lots of items on vapor lock. Many add an electric fuel pump. I insulate the fuel line between the pump and carb. A fan shroud would help.

He should have one of Skips coils but this sounds like this new gas problem on hot days when you shut the engine off for a few minutes. I'm not a fan of VL but I have had this problem over the last year. It usualy starts right up and you go about 100 yards and it starves for gas. Keep the car rolling and work the gas pedal and it clears up in about 200 yards. G.M.

Sounds like your coil is heating up. Marvel Mystery Oil added to your tank will help with the dreaded vapor lock.. try it and see for yourself, it works!
