Vapor Lock

I read with interest the posts on vapor lock because I had an issue today that I thought was vapor lock. It was around 90 degrees today and I made a trip about 40 miles and the engine started sputtering and acting like it was starving for gas. I stopped after about 25 miles and filled up with gas and it seemed to be okay for a while and just before getting home it started again. I suspect my gas line is a ground path and it is warming up the fuel line. I do have engine pans but who knows how good a ground that is between the engine and frame. I disconnected the fuel line from the sediment bowl and read the resistance between the sediment bowl and fuel line to the carb and I measured 14 ohms. That tells me there is a grounding path there. I guess a ground strap from transmission to body is in order. Any comments are welcome!

Did you use an analog meter and zero it before taking the measurement? You should have zero ohms if the engine is electrically connected to the frame, as it should be.

I saw a guy in Florida who had the old wooden clothes pins clipped to the fuel line just ahead of the carb. He said it was to prevent a vapor lock.

I tried the resistance with a analog meter and I had about 5 ohms. I ran a ground from body to frame to transmission a while ago and I am going to see how that goes.
