my friends model A's and other Fords are having problems with valves sticking..anyone have answers..is it fuel type or is there a additive you can put in to fix it...thanks
Marvel mystery oil did not help, we are now running 100 LL airplane fuel in all cars because ethanol melts tank treatments...maybe the fuel is too clean??
Hi Dick MMO is the way to Go! These are Model A's not airplanes. Are you having a tour of the Island this year? It was a lot of fun. set it up.,We will be there Hi to Chris too.my friends model A's and other Fords are having problems with valves sticking..anyone have answers..is it fuel type or is there a additive you can put in to fix it...thanks
I own two antique airplanes. 100LL avgas is the worst thing you could use if you have valve sticking. I do not even use it in my 7.5:1 compression ratio aircraft engines because of valve sticking.
There is way more lead in that then was ever in leaded auto-fuel.
Ream the carbon out of the valve guides and use MMO in the engine oil or CAMGARD. http://www.aslcamguard.com/
