Valve Spring Compressor

Mitch//pa --- Maker of the C style in the picture you had in your reply?

CarlG ----- You are right on that, lots of favorites :)

I have had a Craftsman valve Spring compressor like this for at least 40 years I like the C type because there is no obstructions in getting at the keepers. I have not used it on a Model A but it appears it would work.

I have one like Carl shows and I find it is perfect for the shade tree mechanic, I can understand that the ones that do a lot of motors need something faster as time is money. Us old people need ease of operation. Jack at 80 years old.

Thanks for all the help and idea's on the different valve compressors. Going to pick up a Craftsman C style from ebay today and might buy a Sunnen also. I am sure I will find one or the other to my liking and the other will just take up space in the garage.

Looked at the one on epay that Tom W. posted a link to, and in the description it says: "Use to compress valve springs up to 8" long". Boy, that's some springs.

I didn't read the description, but they mean 8" jaw opening, which should take care of most needs. :)

I know you believe you understand what you think I said,
but, I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant..

SPRING COMPRESSOR IS ON IT'S WAY :D
