Vacuum readings

I want to use a vacuum gauge to test/tune on my engine with single downdraft 97. The carb has no vacuum port, nor does the intake manifold. I can drill and tap into the neck of the intake just below the carb to put in a vacuum port.

Is this as good as a location as any to do this, or is there a preferred location for a vacuum port?

i drilled mine on the bottom , so you could not see it . i would think anywhere will give you vacumm ................... steve

You can use a vacuum adapter that goes between the carb and manifold.

This one is sold by one of the H.A.M.B. Alliance vendors, The Hot Rod Company. That should make Ryan happy!
