v8 60 question

I have a 1938 V8 60 that runs great but stalls upon a quick stop. It will start again as soon as the car is stopped. Could the problem be that the float level in the carb is set a bit too high. I know that is a problem with the Zenith carbs on my Model A. Any information appreciated!

Possibly the idle speed is set too low, maybe carb needs going through? Is this a ford-holley 81-92 or a stromberg 81,really dosent make much diff what carb is on there it shouldn't be stalling at a stop. ken ct. 38 should be a strom 81.
