V8-60 Points

Guys; I am normally over on the Model A Forum, however a friend of mine has an 'A' with a V8-60. Really nice install, looks great. We are doing a Tune up. But I do not know how to adjust the point gap. The specs I have is .014 to .016. Where do I go from here ? Any Help out there ? By the way I am not sure what year this is , But it does have solid water jackets. THANKS.

The .014 to .016 point gap is correct for each set of points when the rubbing block is on the point of the rotor. It won't be as exact as setting up on a machine, but should be close enough. Examine the point set closely. There are many inferior sets being sold. Look for good threads on the connector, no shorts between the connector and the body of the points, and good spring tension.

Can the Distributor be easily removed to set the points and then be reinstalled? How is the shaft aligned with the drive?
