Don Garlits Museum needs help. A fellow named Dean Jay Paules of Myerstown Pa. visited the museum in Ocala Fl. and spoke with Bob Taaff who oversees the restoration of vehicles. Bob is currently restoring an old midget race car for the musuem. It has a V-8 60 hp flattie in it. He is in need of an engine balance machine for this V-60. It would be different than the one for the 85hp-100hp. Bob can be contacted at 1-877-271-3278.

Thanks for looking. :)

If your talking about balancing the engine, pistons, rods, crank, flywheel, pressure plate, ect. any shop that balances engines should be able to do it. It's no differant than any other engine. I just had a 35 engine balanced and I'm glad I did. Had to add mallory to the crank. The pistons were alot heavier than the ones that came out of the engine. Walt

I don't think I understand? What is the "balance" in question? Is the problem that the bobweights are too wide for the crank journals?

can't really tell you. I am just passing on a request. If you would call Bob at the above number I guess he would explain what he needs. I would guess he woud appreciate any info that the great guys of the barn could provide.
