v8 60 intake manifold

Good morning, I was at the La roadster show last weekend & found an intake manifold that had the carb mounting area lowered about 2 inches. What if any difference will this make in the engine operation? I just had the engine rebuilt & don't want to hurt anything. Thanks.
 
On an OHV engine changing the distance of the path from the base of the carburetor to the intake valve can shift the peck horsepower/torque. I'm not sure how sensitive a flathead is to these changes.
