V-8 clutch adjustments

I am going to replace a V-8 clutch. Are there any pressure plate adjustments I need to make? If so, please explain.
Thank you!

I just installed a V-8 pressure plate and new friction disk. You need to install and torque down the PP onto the flywheel with the disk in place. Then put a straightedge across the rear (exposed) housing and measure down to each of the three fingers. They need to be equal distance down. I've heard both 3/4" and 5/8", the actual distance is not as critical as the need for them to be identical. If they are not identical then you will be assymetrically loading the pressure plate as you press down on the clutch pedal, and you will get chatter and burns on the flywheel.

X2 on what JJ said. The 3 fingers need to measure the same distance. Good luck on your clutch replacement.

Thank you to the Lake County A's for another great Spring Opener! Looking forward to next year's Spring Opener.

I had a similar issue when I converted to a T5 using a 9" Chevy disc. I used an early V8 pp, but the chatter upon take-off was terrible. I disassembled everything, measured run-out and wobble, resurfaced the flywheel, and still had the problem. I purchased a diaphragm clutch for an 85 Mustang, and all is well.
