V-8 60 doorstop

I picked up a 1940 V-8 60 block at a swap meet reciently, and when i got it home and measured the bore it was .120 over. The cost of sleeves is cost prohibative ( for me) and piston makers just laugh at me. Any sugestions as what to do with it, door stop, boat anchor, paper weight.

Talk to Rich Willim in Detroit, Michigan. He may have a cost effective suggestion for saving that block for use as an engine rather than turning it into yard art.

Paper weight??How big is the paper you use?I would sell it to someone who would be willing to sleeve it and buy something else.I'm sure if someone really wants a 60 they would buy it.

First, Do No Harm!

Let's not go nuts out there. Think how useful the 60 block might be for mockup. I would use a dead or disabled 60 block to make headers or fit to a Model A chassis. Not much available for 60 headers, and for making up mounts or other dimensions it could be very useful If you need to know how much room you have for porting or other fitment, what could better? A couple of years ago was offered a 60 block and other misc. parts but was traveling in a compact car. Not that I'm a hoarder, but perhaps I am, but there are some things that don't come along that often that should be considered. Taking or buying cheap any 60 leftovers in the LA area. Thanks: Fred A
