Using www.maffi.org to find part information...

Looking for information on Model A parts?

The Model A Ford Foundation (MAFFI) has on their website, www.maffi.org information on Model A Ford parts, and a few other goodies.

This is information is 99% available from the Ford Archives.

Go to the website and at the bottom of the left-hand column you will see a red box that says Model A Parts Index.

Click on this icon then you will get a screen and another box with the following choices:

Part #
Part Name
Prefix
Suffix
Notes
E.I. (Engineer Information)

If I want information on a specific part, I usually just type the part number in to the specific box. If the part number is A-1234, I just type in 1234 and that will bring up a screen showing the part number, the name of the part, all the prefix's and suffix's that were used, notes, dates the change was made at the factory and the E.I's that were ever issued.

The other item I use is the E.I.'s. Once you see all the E.I.'s that were used for a particular change in a specific part, the E.I.s ALSO tell you just what other parts were affected by the change.

So if part number A-1234 has E.I. 34567 attached to it, type in the number 34567 in the E.I. box and see all the other parts that were affected in the change.

Thank God MAFFI has done this and it is an excellent tool for your research.

I also think that Fordbarn's previous owner, Miss Shelly Kaptin, is the webmaster for this site...at least she was a few months back.

Merry Christmas Miss Shelly!

Have fun.
