Update to poor fit

Now, the hardware is correctly installed and guess what both don't fit at all. I can't get the post to go down the slots on the bed. I re- drilled the holes and it is still off.

I know where I bought these from and may send them back. Information I gave them was a 31 short bed. Talk about parts from China not fitting properly.

Oh well, I still love my truck.

It is quite a shame something as simple as stake sides can't be manufactured correctly. I too like others thought maybe they were for a wide bed with different locations for the stake pockets, make sure you tell them 31 narrow bed. If you have to reorder a set, try Brattons, they try to have the best available parts and work well with the customer with returns

Why not build a set yourself. Just 8 short pieces of wood and 16 bolts. Only need a pencil, a tape measure, a saw, a drill, sandpaper and some polyurethane, and a bought two hours. About $25 worth of supplies and best of all no aggravation with store bought pieces not fitting.

X2. ...and since you redrilled them, the vendor is unlikely to give you a refund.

It works best to put the stakes in the pockets, then clamp the boards on where you want them. Now drill the holes.

I have just made mine from wood from an old demolished house.

Figured 1955 wood was better than chinese wood.

You could salvage some of this by using the boards that fit into the stake pockets. These are already dirlled and countersunk. Then off to Home Depot for some 1x4 oak (or whatever) and do like George said (in post # 7) clamp and dirll away.
