Update on transmission plug

Transmission fluid?

600w transmission oil needed. I use half STP and half 600w oil from suppliers.

I would leave plug out and let drain for a couple of days before refilling with new oil.

Remove the old gear oil only to put garbage back in there; great idea.

Am no expert, but agree. When draining motor oil pan, some kerosene would probably get left in the dipper tray?

x2 Especially with the dipper tray. I've seen videos of people using a quart of kerosene to flush their perfectly fine running engine... it made me cringe.

Ford did say use kerosene but if we feel sick should we consult a medical text book from the 1930s?

With plug out, take air hose with plastic/vinyl hose insert in oil fill area and try to blow out more oil,better to pull pan and clean , also valve cover area cleaning.

What kind of valves are in the transmission? And, what size bolts hold the pan on the transmission?
