"Should be up and around in a couple of days and "over it" in about 4 weeks. I certainly hope it corrects my legs giving away without warning. I am tired of bouncing off walls and floors.

After the surgery, which I was well aware of as it progressed, although sedated somewhat, I asked the Doc if I had any physical limitations for a while, He said NO. :D

Wife drove me home. About the time I got home I got a call from the local dealership that I occasionally shuffle cars to other dealers for, asking me if I wanted to take a trip up to Marietta for a Dealer Transfer. Feeling great, and over my anesthesia, I said yes. Trip was uneventful. Back surgery in the morning and "back to work" in the afternoon.

I got a call from the regular gal I drive for today and she wanted me to take a trip back to Marietta, because the dealer had given me an incorrect second set of keys. I said, Yeah, I'll go. Up and back with no problems. That was this morning.

The doctor gave me a prescription for pain pills, but I have yet to take one, and have not needed them. He prescribed a knee support for a while just to brace the left knee, which was the one that always seemed to buckle first. I am wearing that.

No shuffling around. No heavy feeling in my legs. I carry my cane just in case, but do not use it as support. No pain, no buckling. Truly a Miracle.

Only regret is that for the past 5 years or so, all of the various doctors that I have seen said there wasn't anything they saw that they could fix. I guess that is why they call it "practicing" medicine.

I feel very fortunate that my new doctor saw what I needed and did it.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. They sure help. God is good.

Glad to hear the good news. Take it easy though, don't want to overdue it. Better keep that 37 pickup under 80mph for a while ;).

Lawson, sounds truly like a miracle good for you. In any case stay cautious and take it easy, but take it....

Lawson,
I just got in from work and on the computer. I am glad it is over with and with good results. There is nothing more miserable than back pain.

Several years ago my wife saw a procedure on TV and thought it might help me. I had hobbled around for several years and sometimes it would take my breath when I bent over. Anyway the new procedure was to inject glue between some discs in my back. All done as an out patient. It was wonderful and I am still going strong at 75.

Thanks for keeping us informed and pray it cures your problem.

That is great news ! Just don't get "cocky" and over do it.
Good luck !

That is fantatic! Backs are such tricky things to operate on. I have a bulging disc and crumbling vertebrae, and my doc has warned me not to have any surgery on it. So, I am really pleased that yours has been successful.

Thank the Lord for giving skills needed for your progress. Didn't know you were doing dealer transfers. I did that for awhile, but stopped when the industry slowed down.

Great news Lawson, wish you the best.I'll be in Hiawassie from june6 through 27. If your around the week of the 11 to18 maybe we could take a ride over to see you. ken ct. Send me your cell or house # and we could call you during that week. I know your going to TX around that time . ken ct.

I'm really happy for you. Having been there, you'll have a day when every bit of the anesthesia is finally gone. Be careful. I spent 4 weeks healing and didn't want to, but it was worth it. 13yrs and still kickin ***.

Lawson, This is great news. It's amazing what can be done in the medical field when the right doctors are involved. Don't overdue it and push yourself to fast.
