Unusual rear engine mount?

My "new" toy (31 coupe) has rear engine mounts that appear to be different than the stock parts I see in the catalogs. What are they? The rubber is soft and seems recent.

The front mount is stock, EXCEPT that in place of the center spring, there is a decaying hard rubber biscuit. Homebrew?

There is some controversy over the wisdom of installing rear Float-a-Motors. It changes some of the correct dynamics and engineering of the front end, etc. So you might want to look into it a bit further. Do a search on the FORD BARN forum.

I have had those rear mounts on my tudor for probably 30 years. Some folks don't like them, but I do. I have the stock front mount with stock springs.

How thick should those rubber pads be? In Snyder's picture they look to be fairly thick, I'd guess about 1" or so. The ones on our '31 are only about 1/2" thick. Maybe that's why there's about 1/2" of washers between the bottom round aluminum piece and the part bolted to the engine.
