Unusual Model A Radiator Surround Badge

Can anyone identify the diamond shaped badge on the radiator shell of the pictured 1928 Model A roadster with 1935 California number plates? The badge has two intersecting circles with what looks like the letters MAM. Thanks in advance.

Looking very closely at the image, I think you can see the outline of the standard oval emblem behind the diamond. I think this may be some kind of adhesive badge representing a company, a union, who knows.

AAA Insurance badge .... some had the California state bear on it too ....

When I was a kid my dad would religiously go into the CSAA office and get a new sticker for the rear bumper for each new car we got (this was 1950's-1960's). When I asked him why, he said it was so the tow truck driver knew that he was a member when he showed up. It wasn't insurance (he had Allstate, as did I until early on Allstate treated me like crap on a claim), it was simply belonging to the club.

Auto Club of Northern California ceramic license plate topper - found a pair in the trunk of my ‘40 Olds.
