Universal Joint Bolt Set

Hi Everyone,

I started putting the Universal Joint together today with a new bolt set. In the book it looks like the bolts should slide in from the front with the nuts on the backside, however I can not get the bottom one in, there is not enough space between the ****** and the joint cover. Was it supposed to go the other way, or is there a trick to this?

I believe you are talking about the six bolts that mount the U-joint cover assembly to the transmission rear bearing retainer. The top bolt has the hex bolt forward, the nut aft. the others face opposite with the nuts forward. You will need two 9\16" wrenches, a socket won't work.
