Hey guys the Wife wanted me to be sure and post this today she was so tickled! First off we have been driving the wheels off the 29 Tudor in the last two weeks we have burnt 3 tanks of fuel out just driving around the back roads and around town. Today we went to a Football Homecoming Parade for our high school where we graduated way back when to help out the football team and show our support had a great time the car ran great no overheating problems as I had in the past also met with an old friend at the parade driving his 37 ford truck that I had not seen in years and he has two Model A's also and didn't even know he had them! So a good buddy to run with close to home! Then we went to a local car show just thought we would drop in for awhile and see the other cars and kill some time on a Saturday afternoon so we entered the Tudor. This is what the Wife got so excited about we first placed in the top 15 cars and received our first car show trophy she was thrilled then at the end for "best of show" WE WON! Could not believe that happened! I think that the Wife was more proud of the Tudor than I was because she said the trophy's were not going in the garage but in the HOUSE! Could not have asked for a better day! So glad we bought the Model A we are having so much FUN!!! Thanks, Robert and Rita DeBord She said that I could have looked a little more "excited" in the picture!

Congratulations on the double trophies! Nice looking "A". Sounds like you really are enjoying the hobby. My wife and I were in the Centenial Parade in Kimberly, WI today and had a great time also. Don/WI

Any chance "your friend" is a school teacher & a coach?? ;)

I think the key to all the fun you guys are having is your perseverance and the "never give up" attitude. Many would have likely thrown in the towel or built a street rod out of it after experiencing all the struggles you have had. Congrats to you on many accounts!!!

Thanks everybody hey Brent yes about the friend his name is Marty he said that if I ever need any help you were the guy to see I told him I already had bent your ear on many different phone calls! As for the Wife liking the hobby I guess I am just lucky on that part! It is great that we have the same interests in things that we like doing. Thanks Robert and Rita DeBord

Wonderful. What better way to enjoy life then doing what you enjoy with the ones you love. Congratulation on the trophy.

Congratulations Robert and Rita:)! I know the feeling of that first trophy as when Diane and I won the Best Restored trophy from 1900-1969 with our 1930 standard coupe two years ago.My wife doesn't drive the coupe for fear of putting a scratch on it.I think I'll take a refrigerater magnet, paint it black(color of car)and then put a scratch on it and put it on the driver's side door.I have driven our coupe 5000 miles since 2007 after restoration.Have fun with your car and put some miles on it.Ray in Duckroost.

Get her involved, perhaps with putting on a local or even a national Meet. We helped with the 2002 MAFCA Meet where she met other women and got involved with the Meet. She now enjoys going to some club meetings (ours are mostly guys but some aren't) and the national meets.
