undercoating removal

I've used a halogen light, as a heat source, left close to the backside of the metal panel, so the bond between the undercoat gets soft first, then the scraper pulls off larger sections, since the outer side of the undercoat stays cooler. I hope that made sense.;)
 
Dry ice, chills the petroleum based undercoating. Tap it with a hammer and it comes off in chunks. Leaves metal clean

Thanks bowtie.. I have another hood I want to use on my Merc, but someone but it on the under side.. Hood ways a ton and with historically weak hinge I really want to remove it before putting it on. It's barely noon now and the radio guy just said it was 97.. Hood is leaned against the fence with the top pointing south.. Stuff is coming off much easier than I anticipated.
