U-Joint Inner Cap

1. I am putting the transmission back in the car. Should the 2 holes in the inner cap face up and down or sideways? I assume the holes are to let some grease pass through to lubricate the up and down movement of the rear end.

2. I have Hi Temp EP multi -Purpose lithium complex grease available. Is this a good choice to pack the u-Joint?

i place the holes at 3:00 & 9:00

If you took it to a QUICK LUBE place, betcha' the KID could make grease come out around the shifter, FOR SMOOTHER SHIFTING!!
Reminds me of the guy that had foam coming out of the shift tower vent. Before he put on the shift tower, he had filled the trans to the TOP of the CASE!
