Is that word a description, or, Brand Name? Bought a set of cowl lights that aren't Ford (requires 3 holes to mount) that the Lens carry that name, yet the bulb socket was single contact. Of course I can't tell if wiring is original. The lens is three inches, overall length is 5 1/4 inch, brass cover with chrome.
Aren't they rather small for Cowl?

I think it is a brand name? That name is stamped on Model A headlights.

Well I'll be darn -- it was a Brand. TWOLITE on Model A with Single bulb headlamp with Cowl.

Some of the early 1930 cowl lamp lens had Twolite and the word Top.

It's likely a Ford trademark. They were the first headlight assembly with the headlamp and park lamp all in the same unit. The reflector housing was the big change. The early fluted lens headlamp only had the one bulb.
