Two bolts left to pull a gas tank - help

I have a 29 5 window coupe that I am doing a frame off with and putting an 8BA in. Well I am almost done stripping her down and have removed all the bolts on the tank except to inside the cabin at the very edge on either side. I just can not put a wrench or other tools I have tried on the nuts - it is a bit frustrating! Any ideas, tips etc. ??? Oh I also searched these forums and looked but did not see anything - however I did run into one place that said I need to pull the windshield - is this true?? Thanks in advance for any help...!

Not totally familiar with the closed models, but on the open cars the fastener I think you're referring to does not have a normal nut, rather a set in place D-nut or clinch-nut. Picture #1 shows this one on a closed car and #2 & 3 show the similar location on an open car. If patience, heat, soaking don't do the trick then most likely end up being broken off and drilled out/tapped. Good luck.

I use a long 12 point boxed end wrench on those. It takes some patience, but doable. Let the inside of the cowl post hold the wrench from turning as you will likely only be able to hold onto the wrench with 2 fingers. Rod

Thanks the 12 point box 7/16" was what to use. The trick or tip I was looking for I found myself - open the windshield and there is access from above through one of the vents :-) one unscrewed one broke not bad for 84 year old hardware....
