Twin 8 Nash on Flathead..

BUBBAS IGNITION

Well-known member
We have done a few of these over time but they still have the look for the early flathead engine with dual plug heads.
The drives are being ( and have been ) remade.
On this one we machined the 1932 Nash twin eight distributor to fit the new drive unit, set the contacts to sync each spark in the machine.
I have two of these in the building right now to get done. This one is going back to customer today.
Interesting concept twin plugs on the flathead firing at the same time???
Comments from the engine "gurus" ???

I would think that a hi- voltage coil would destroy that cap in short order. How available are they?

As far as the benefit to engine performance , I would say "Some, but not much"probably help more in a fuel burning engine. Hoverer, with that said I do think it would help fuel economy in a properly tuned engine.

Good thought Ron, high voltage is not allowed !!! Must use small .025 plug gap and keep it tuned .
Theres a cap on the net right now NOS for $450 , wow kinda high i guess....:)

Don't know about a performance benefit with dual plugs, but would just one hole vent the ozone from that cap, or are more (as shown) better? Regardless, the cool factor is off the chart, that's gonna look bad ***!

Looks awsome, what about belt clearances? I'd like to see one all set up on a motor with wires run.

It's a bit of a job to make it all fit, especially in a 32. I had to make a bracket and use a later fan hub to clear it. Mine was set up by Bubba too, runs like a top! I have picked new caps up for under $100

I like the Elco twin plug heads, My friend George had a set on his roadster with a blown (Frenzel) flathead. He was looking in to this but the cost was a little much. So one set of wires are Dummys.

Here are some pictures I took last year of a setup like this on a '32.
