Turn signal switch color code

I just bought a 31 cabriolet that a restoration was started. It has a chrome turn signal switch with the green indicator light on the end of the lever. There is no diagram with the car or parts.
I have one in another car I can disassemble it and figure it out, but was hoping some one could give the purpose of each color it would really help.
