To me a family heirloom is one that has been in the family for at least 2 decades. Every old car is not an heirloom to be kept at all costs. Better to let it go to someone who will enjoy it rather than park it in a corner of the barn just because "it was Dad's".

Find a model A club near you and ask a couple of members who the most honest guy in the club is. Then ask him to help you.
