Tudor Rear Window Glass Seal

Ready to put the new rear glass in the '29 Tudor. Have new Rubber seal. I made new pieces out of oak to replace the bakelite corners in the body panel. Have been told that corners is where it tends to leak. Three questions -- 1. Where should the splice in the rubber seal go, seems logical to put it at the top to avoid opportunity for leak. Have read somewhere that you wrap the rubber around and glue the ends together with weather strip cement. 2. Should I wrap the rubber gasket around the glass and seal between the glass and rubber with clear silicone sealer? and 3. Should I run a bead of clear silicone between the rubber seal and the rear metal body panel?

Perhaps not silicone but other type of sealer??

Thanks for any suggestions.

Use Super Glue to connect the two ends of the glass gasket. Thats what I use on my chop tops (see avitar). Works great and instantly:). I put the seam @ the top
