Tube Shock Conversion

Hi guys, I'm the FNG around here (that's Vietnamspeak for the "New Guy"). Just got a 29 Tudor and am making it into a driver. Since the original shocks were missing, I have decided to go with tubular shocks. Bought a conversion kit from Sullivans and am in the midst of the install but discovered that the upper front bracket has a 3/4 hole drilled in front of the two attach bolts to provide clearance for the attaching bolt head for the front crossmember/engine mount. It all makes sense except the 3/4 hole does not line up with the crossmember attach bolt head. Anybody out there have this problem? Thoughts?

I got my modern shocks from Snyder's and they are a perfect fit. Go with Snyder's. If you have any ? they will give you help all day long.

They are great!!

Good luck!!

Try calling Sullivans, where you bought the kit. If they did not make the kit they should refer you to who did for technical advise.

Welcome to Model A's.

I had the same problem on my 28 frame. Take a rat tail file to the hole until it fits over the crossmember rivet.
