Are worm gears and pinion gears and other parts for the TT Ruxtelle in demad enough to justify taking this apart. Thanks Rod

Is there any way to tell if it is high speed before taking it apart? Likely will begin trying to get it off of its overwelded home made mount on Thursday, when I should have use of a loader. Rod
 
One way to check is to take out the drain plug and mark the ring tooth you see with a paint stick or something. Then have someone turn the driveshaft as you count the teeth. 29 low or 31 high.
