I have been around T's for quite a while, but am new to the TT. Recently purchased a 1922 TT firetruck. Can anyone tell me what rear wheels a 1922 TT would have? Wondering the size and if anyone knows of any available.
They either had a 6.00 x 20 or something x 23, number escapes me at the moment; still getting the cobwebs out of my head. Do you have anything on the TT now? Some pictures would be cool either here or to my email aloso@q.com We have several TT' and lots of parts for them; all of ours have the 6.00 x 20, cuts down on the amount of spares.
A 1922 TT would have been Ford factory equipped with a pneumatic 32 x 4 & 1/2 - a 23" wheel. Some fire apparatus company's utilized solid rubber tires for dependability to make it to the fire without a flat !
Yes, both sizes are available - 32 x 4.5 & 6.00 x 20.
From the research I have done today it looks like I do indeed need the 32"x4 1/2". Someone got ambitious along the way and welded 18" V8 wheels to the drums. Anyone have a good pair for sale? Also here are a few pics of my project. Just picked it up, it's a 1922 Waterous. I am on the hunt for the missing pump and related driveline items. I know it will be next to impossible, but I am up for it. Please let me know if anyone has information on parts for it.
