Trying to hide the 351 again

PAW= Performance Automotive Warehouse. Used to be a Big performance retailer, i.e. Summit or Jeg's. Don't know if they're still around.
They went bye bye several years ago the owner moved to a smaller location and only deals with Hemi Mopar stuff.Too bad as they had good deals and good service.

I first came across these some years ago on a MUSTANG site. MONEYMAKER RACING offered them. He couldn't advise to country of origin so I never went further.

Two styles shown- Maybe one is BLUE THUNDER?

Kultulz, the first 2 pic's you have are the same I've found. (Performance Unlimited), might even have the name Shell Valley on their site. I'd have to look it up again.

The Holman Moody covers don't look bad at all either, just not sure if their tall enough. And if I have to end up buying spacer for the H-M ones, might as well buy the tall pricey ones to begin with.

Jeff, I've got those now. Just looking for something else. Will be putting new ones on superformance cobra. Thanks though.

I know this is an old thread but at the time there seemed to be a lot of concern about venting and filling with oil when using old closed valve covers. I eventually changed the valve covers on my tbucket to 59 Ford Fe valve covers with no holes. Without thinking I put a hole in one of the covers for the pcv valve. It still did not vent enough then it dawned on me to make a vent where the fuel pump used to be.

I took an metal block off plate and some conduit. Pie cut the conduit to get the shape I wanted and added an K&N vent breather on top. I can add oil and it vents just fine with no mess.

I like the breather where the fuel pump used to be but if I were to do it again I think I will try to mount a fill tube in the timing chain cover like on the 221 and early 260 and do have a junk one to practice on.

You guys are starting to sound like the CHEVY guys that try to make a 350 look like an Oldsmobile. Good grief

After the closed valve cover they went to the open ones with the oil fill/breather on a tube stand on the left. Was the old push on type. I thought it had a road draft tube on the right cover, could be wrong as it was a long time ago. 1966 Bronco had a vacuum wiper as standard equipment and came with a dual diaphragm fuel pump, kind of has a old time look to it.

I never knew Ford offered a vacumn wiper that late,I know AMC did but a dual diaphram fuel pump for a 289 would be very hard to find. I was going to keep the vacumn wiper on my 55 but never could get them to work and would have liked to found a dual diaphram pump for that old look.

Well I went to look in the parts book again and it has a listing for Bronco with the 289 with a Carter pump from 1966 to a break off date in 1969. It doesn't specify if it is a dual action pump or not. They do list a pump for the 200 6 cyl as a dual action. Beginning to wonder if when you ordered a V8 they just threw in the electric wiper option. The pump # for the 289 I found was C6TZ 9350 B. I guess if I was really trying to do this on a W engine I would see if a old dual action pump would fit in the space, most Ford pumps have the same mount pattern and seen if a dual action pump could be rebuilt using a W style pump arm. I was trying to do the disguise thing a long time ago for a 56 and never got any further than getting the early oil fill timing cover parts before changing directions.

I bought a '67 Bronco in 1971 with factory 289, vacuum wipers and a dual diaphragm pump. Still have a 289 dual diaphragm pump floating around my garage. Can't remember what it came from.

I now have electric wipers but it would be different looking with a dual diaphram pump on a 351 and would have people scratching their heads on what motor it was.
