Trunk Lid

Anyone compared a reproduction (Brookville) 30-31 trunk lid with an original. Are they the same or is original still a better fit and quality?
Mine is not rusted but will need some work requiring separating the inner and outer panels.

Thanks, Steve

I think one thing that is different on repro lids is the bottom edge. Original lids are bent in a little on the bottom 3/8" to 1/2" of the panel. I assume Ford did this to allow clearance for the panel below the lid when it is used for a rumble seat. I have not seen a Brookville lid, so I don't know about the fit and function of them.

Kevin in NJ has it right...they ain't the same, but can be made to work. Same story with the repro 30-31 front fenders.

Looks like I will be repairing my lid. I think someone put an elephant in the trunk and sat on the lid to close. Metal is in great shape but will need to separate to fix. Has a bit of a kink in the curve.
