trunk handle

I had a post a couple days about how to remove a trunk handle from the trunk lid. Well it didnt go so gracefully but I did get it out. The square part of the handle that goes thru the latch was rusted pretty bad to the latching part. Also the locking mechanism in the handle was broken and fell out. the handle its self is in good shape and can e reused if there is a kit or a way to put a new locking mechanism in the handle, So i was wondering if any one new of any place to buy parts for the handle?

You could try getting another handle (new or used) and swap lock out.

thanks, that was what i was thnking of doing swaping out the parts. but is there a certain way to take the handle apart?

BillyBobs , Try also Doug Bruce , he restores Stainless steel handles and takes them apart. You did not say?28/29 or 30/31 I believe 28/29 is brass chrome plate and Doug restore's them too except the chrome plating .[leaves that up to the owner] .He also rekeys... He might have the parts you will need as he collects handles [for pieces].1-607-849-3454 N.Y. time.
