trouble mounting running board moulding

I have a set of new, reproduction, running board mouldings for my 47 coupe and am having trouble getting them to fit correctly, or I should say, staying in the correct position once they are mounted. There is no clips or holes in the running board for any clips. The mouldings seem to just clip over the lip of the running board, top and bottom, but because of the slight curve of the running board they pop off. Anyone have any ideas about how I can secure these? Thanks.

You could use the black Urethane adhesive commonly used for windshield installation in modern cars. I have found this works well for this type of application. :)

Had the same problem when I had my 47. What I did was cut some pieces of rubber and made some shims to make them fit tight in those problem areas.

do you have new rubber covers on your running boards,
if so the rubber cover should have a slightly raised lip
for the moulding to snap over, you slide the bottom lip
over the bottom of the running board first and then push
the top of the moulding over the top of the rubber...
if your rubber cover is old then the raised area might
be broken off, if so the moulding will be loose.
