Trip around the USA

In late June, we are traveling west via I64 to Kansas City I80 to Sacto, CA. Then in early July east via I5 to Oregon, I90 to Masison, I39 to Indianapolis, I70 to the DC area. We will be planning day by day as to where to stop and to see what.

Suggestions for museum, shows, etc along this route, please. I'm wondering if the site in Missoula that is always offering low price cars, is a good visit?
Clem

Towe museum, in Sac -- Evergreen museum, Dundee OR (Spruce Goose)
Could possibly meet up along the I5 portion, maybe Sac

I have to assume you're going to the Rail Road Museum in Sacto... I was there about 10 years ago and it was a great operation then.

Not sure which place in Missoula you are referring to.....but you should stop in Deer Lodge MT, about 75 miles further east on I-90. Great car museum, many early Fords. It was the original site of the Towe museum....also a cool prison museum.

We are having the Train Collectors Association National Convention in Sacto. Yes we will to to the railroad museum and Towe while in Sacto.

For years someone in Mussoula Montana was advertising cars for sale. Dunno the company name

Clem, if you are going to Oregon you do not want to miss the Evergreen Avaition Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. It houses the Spruce Goose and many WW II planes. There's also a new IMax theater there and a new building that houses much stuff from the space program.

Momma not into driving old Ford anywhere. My vote counteth not, BUT Momma is cookin shrimp tonite so I'll follow her anywhere!!!

cooking shrimp you could find her in a real dark alley, Just follow your nose.
heh heh he BUT OH SO GOOD

When you're in Indy, be sure to check out the museum at the Speedway. When you're there, you are only 2 or 3 blocks from Bubba's Speed Shop. If you let me know when you'll be in Indy, I might even buy you a beverage of your choice.

If you can take a side trip, visit Cincinnati and check out the Museum Center in the former Cincinnati Union Terminal. Well worth the trip if you have the time. Have fun.

thanks all. Great suggestions. Momma is part Cagin and hails from Placamens Parish down river from NO. She can cook them shrimp. We have visited the Indy Museum and driven in Model A on the track. Great fun.

Clem, You got that right. I worked down there in Venice and Empire in the '60's and shrimp is the specialty on that bayou.

Sheesh, Clem, you're right up the road from me...not much to tell you on your way out West from Virginia that you don't already know about. Good luck on the trip. That stretch of I-64 from Lexington, VA to Lexington, KY is about as beautiful a scenery as a man could ask for. I'm envious.

Funny, we had peeler shrimp and homemade cornbread tonight, washed down with cold beer. I married a Madison County, VA country girl and, my oh my, that gal knows her way around the kitchen. Lordy, lordy.

I would take a side trip to Auburn Indiana and visit the Auburn Cord Duisenberg Museum. South Bend Indiana has the Studebaker Museum. My wife not a car person like both of them. Dave/Green Bay

Love the Auburn museum. Met Jay there as well as loving the entire show weekend. We did stay in the haunted hotel downtown and thrilled at the overnight parking of the real cars!
