Trick To Removing '38 Ford Door Hinges?

Are they hollow? We have a stock '38 Deluxe and cannot for the life of me get any movement on the door hinges. I can't actually see a pin, just a too small hole. I beat the **** out of the area around it and the very small piece visable from the bottom doesn't even vibrate. I'm wondering if someone hasn't monkey'd with it. Please help before my dad gets out the torch. Thanks for any help.

I would suggest drilling it out. Originaly there was a head on the pin at the top. Marv

If you have a Dremel tool, grind down the head of the pin and center punch the pin. Purchase a 8"X 1/4 drill bit and drill down about 1/2 to 3/4"and drive out (down) the pin after using a penetrating oil. The reason for the 8" bit is that you avoid damage to the door. Works well.....

So if there is a hole already, then someone has started drilling it out before? We've hit it with penetrating oil and will try again to hammer it out. Maybe drill more if we have to.

Thanks for the help.

I wanted to post a thank you to the responders. We drilled them out and got those little S.O.B.s. Started rethinking the whole 'we should have rear view mirrors' thing about half way through. What a chore. But victory is ours. Thanks again Ford Barn.

One way is to jack the car up on the springs on one side a couple of inches then lower it(the hinge ) down onto a length of water pipe ,this should be resting on a concrete foundation .if the running board is on you will only get the top ones .Then with the head of the pin removed knock it down using a drift .
