Tremec T5 Transmission

Hello,

I'm looking for some help…..I've searched the world wide web and can't find a solution.

I have a '56 F100 with a stock 292 and all original gauges. I've installed a mustang T5 transmission with a manual speedometer "port" on the left side.

I'd like to find a cable or adapter so I can use the original gauge with this transmission arrangement.

Could anyone provide a part number for what might have been the proper cable etc. The transmission was supposed to have been removed from a '94 mustang with a first gear of 3.55.

I can't recommend a specific cable but there are numerous places to have a custom cable made.

Gene at Flat-o has helped me in the past and also sells a 'Ratio Adaptor' so your stock speedo reads correctly. http://flat-o.com/accessories/speedcable.htm

I'm sure there are others but Gene has always come thru for me.

I put a T-5 in my 66 Falcon and plugged in the stock 66 cable. The 3.23 rear ratio and stock gearing in the T-5/cable must have been compatable because it came out dead on. I don't think Ford changed the transmission end of things for years.

My 55 bird hooked up with just a gear change on the end of the cable. Not to fit, for the ratio.
