Robert,
For large items like fenders, etc. you might want to visit your closest Greyhound Bus Lines. I have used them numerous times and have been very pleased. They have always been polite, helpful and the packages have arrived safely every time. Cost is a fraction of UPS or USPS.
The closet terminal to me is 25 miles but remains well worth the trip.

It might be worth your while to go on the H.A.M.B. and look for a "H.A.M.B. Relay". There is a lot more activity there than here and you might have better luck. They are mostly "our kind of folks".

I had each of my front fenders separately, shipped by Greyhound. The nearest to me was Pontiac Michigan. Only cost about $45 each and they were wrapped in Bubble wrap. Very Happy with the service; by the way that was in 2008. Byron.

I ship stuff (less than a truck load) truck freight all over the US on a regular basis. It goes by both weight and size. It can get expensive but it's less hassle for me in my business. Most everything I ship has a crate or a box covered pallet that can easily be lifted with a fork lift. If the bus lines won't take it, a person doesn't have a lot of choice unless they deliver half way or something like that. Worldwide Express is a good broker but there are others.
