transportation to work and back

Had to drive my A model to work today (15 miles). My GMC is in my shop jacked up getting a new clutch and last night the alternator went out on my Buick Lesabre. The A model has no heat and my fingers got numb this morning but at least it will run when you want it to. Its just more dependable than the modern stuff. Its good to have a backup you know will run when you need it.

As a kid in Northern AZ, it would seem that my A would start in the winter even when my dad had problems with his Jeep. Good in the snow because of it's balance and narrow tires.

Richard, what where you driving a Roadster or a speedster. I can honestly say I have never been cold in My Coupe. It is stored in a garage, but free heat while cruising has never been a problem. Happy motoring !

It is a tudor car,31. It is a little drafty around the windshield and probably the doors too. I have never installed a heater and am getting soft in my old age, so i'm used to heat in my regular cars.

My manifold heater is plenty...and you have heat by the time you're in second gear.

The 4WD in my Durango blew out in that freak Halloween snow, but the Model A was up on blocks, too. Had to borrow a car. Should have the "A" back on the road this weekend.

I drove a 30 Tudor to work for a year in 1985 (it was about 5 miles). Had an Autolite heater that I hooked up a 6v blower that would suck the air thru the heater. Would warm up in about 2 blocks. One day an ice storm hit and I realized I didn't even have a scraper. Went out and since there was no wind (unusual for Kansas) I didn't have any ice on the windows. Got in and drove home before most people were able to remove the ice on their modern cars.
