I have a cruise-a-matic in my ranchero is this a 2 spd or 3 spd also is the green dot on indicator what I should use while driving I'm having a senior moment

Should be a 3 speed if you have the pointer on the green dot. Put it on the other dot, and it takes off in 2nd.

Question:
Ford-O-Matic is a 3 speed trans starting in 2nd gear when in Drive. Start in Low for 1st gear, shift up to Drive for shift to 2nd and then 3rd.
Is this statement correct ?

Just went and checked my 61 Galaxie with a Cruise O Matic behind a 390, and it definitely is a 3 speed.

Yes it's starts in 2 if in drive, if you start in 1 if not full power it will miss 2 and go to third. If you shift from neutral to reverse or drive and you feel a jerk you need the Transmisson adjusted. I have 57 T-Bird mine is smooth and will bark the tires with every power run in all gears.

Correct, but if linkage is properly adjusted, will start in 1st while selector is in "D" at wide open throttle (WOT).

thanks its been a long time since I ve had one {high school in the 80's 66 mustang convertible} wish I still had that but... I do not think my little 6 banger is gonna bark the tires but its fun to drive im going for the v8 brake conversion so I can get desent wheels for it not much in the 4 lug class
