transmission slip yoke

Looking for a transmission slip yoke for my stock 1951 Victoria. V8 with 3 speed manual trans. So far i'm having no luck, I've heard that a chevy 55 to 62 might fit? Does anyone know if this is true.
Any information on locating a replacement part would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bill

Not certain what does fit, but the transmission is built by borg warner and is common to other brands. A Chev uses a different u-joint, but adapter u-joints are available. Ford standard transmissions were also borg and may fit. Outside seal/bushing size, spline count and style are the factors to mate with trans, u-joint type to mate with driveshaft

Yes, Chevy will fit. Dang, I just sold my last one. They are out there. Look on the HAMB for I think I recall some being for sale on the swap section. $30-$50 is the going price for a genuine Ford one. I'll look through my stash to see if I have another. If I do, you can have it for free.

If it's the same as on the trucks with the 3-sp, it's a very common "powerglide" yoke, see here and many other places. Note that some of them are longer than the Ford piece, may need to be trimmed in the spline section:

Length to center of u-joint... Dimension #1 = 4.875 inches
Barrel Diameter... Dimension #2 = 1.500 inches
Barrel Length... Dimension #3 = 3.625 inches
Spline count... 16
Spline Outside Diameter = 1.172

The 1M-4841 slip yoke (or knuckle & plug as they called it) was used on all Ford & Mercury cars from 1949 thru 53 and maybe later cars too. barnfind08 has a decent price there.
