Transmission rebuild kit

Hello!
I have a worn V8-60 transmission on my Ford and there is a rebuild kit on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Tranmis...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

But can anyone tell me how complete this kit is? Do I need something else to make a complete rebuild? I am not very familiar with transmissions yet but I suppose the transmission have more parts than what I can see from this rebuild kit? For example the main shaft bearing? I asked the seller but didnt get any good answer.
Thanks
Knut Haakon

I'm not a trans expert and it's probably missing something but it sure looks like for the money your getting a lot of hard to find parts?

I don't see bearings for input shaft or main shaft--- the cluster has bushings
The parts look to be "NORS"---new old stock made by replacement parts company other than Ford---- but it does look to be a reasonable value

That seems awfully cheap for all of those components. If I were you, I wouldn't even screw around with this. Instead, I'd call Mac VanPelt. He's probably got everything you need for this job and can answer any questions you might have.

Knut,
I may just snap that kit up, all gears are after market and appear to be by the
same manufacturer which is a plus. I'd go for it, if it's there in a couple days I'll grab
it, but not away from you or Mac.

If it had all the bearings, gaskets, and snap rings, all a person would need is a clean case to put it all in. It's kind of rare that you find all the gears put together like that.

Knut,

I would verify how eBay's Buyer Protection Program applies to shipments to Norway. If the item(s) are not as advertised, in the US, the buyer may return the stuff with the seller responsible for shipping BOTH ways when returned.

Contrary to what many say about sellers on eBay, buyers have an unfair advantage and caused many sellers to stop using the site.

IF ... eBay protects you in Norway with the same rules as the US, you have little worry about and are pretty safe to "screw around with this."

Check the rules. Missing bearings should be easy to find.

I agree with Charlie. Go for it! I bought new (probably nors) cluster and first/reverse sliding gears to repair a '37 60hp transmission, and probably paid close to the same price shown on that ebay ad. I think Mac VP is a great source for trans parts and info on these early Ford transmissions, but I doubt he could beat or even match that ebay price for all those parts.

Thanks for all the info and good words! I bought the kit, hopefully it will come in use. The seller has another kit, and perhaps it will turn up on ebay soon too.
