transmission cover for 36

Here is a cover I just bought that is supposed to be from a 35/36:

I have my doubts. The shifter hole seems to be enlarged at the top with a gap left at the bottom. The holes seem to be in the right spots but there is an extra hole at the bottom driveshaft hump not shown in the 35/36 book.

Opinions?
Why are the bolt holes so big?

The size of the holes is due to the cupped washer and #12 screws that secure the cover.

Modified for a 1939 shift top??

It may have been modified for a 4 speed ****** since the shifter is pulled back about 2" more than the the 3 speed.

The Transmission top for a 35 slants and maybe further back . Just a thought. There is a definite change between the 35 & 36 transmission tops.

Hi,
I'm not at home to check on my this but from my aging memory. Is the Emergency brake in slightly different locations from 35 to 36? One is further forward than the other??

Here's a comparison between the 35 and 36 trans covers. Yours may have started as a 35 but the hole was enlarged to work with a 36.
