Transmission bearings B-7118 & B-7121

I'm preparing for a transmission rebuild on my Model "A". I wondering what is the current state with reproduction countershaft bearings? I know at one point the new bearings were of poor quality and prone to early failure. I believe that has been corrected? If so, does anyone have any significant miles on a transmission using them? Supplier recommendation? Many thanks in advance.

STAY AWAY FROM KOBE or Synders !!!!!!, as they're chinese or Indian made!!!!!!,
Attempt/try to find N.O.S. FORD/HYATT/BOWER/RBC /SKF!!!!!!,
I can give the aforementioned part numbers,Last time i received an order they had to &must come from overseas , i was able to find them in a mixture of UK &USA brands BUT..... they're NOT cheap here (Australia) compared to how much they sell in the USA for!!!!!! :( sigh.

call Steve at Berts in Denver and get original very good originals and be done with it 800 321 1931

I’d suggest that you call Don Snyder at Snyder’s and ask him what the status of those bearings is. My recollection is that he did come up with a solution. When I last spoke to Steve Mitchell about this I did not get the impression that he considered this to be too big of a deal anymore.

Maybe it would be a good idea for any and all vendors that see this to chime in with what they have or not. This isn't an easily changed out part. I still want to someday to
make a bronze bearing replacement. I'm tired of all this.

When I retire (If and when!) I want to do this.

you may find that once you buy all the parts needed to rebuild that original ****** back to original the better way to go is to send yours and have it converted to syncro. probably not a whole lot of difference in cost and a way nicer drivable ******.

if i lived in the USoA that is what i would do for sure.

I rebuilt my transmission with all new part. Then I bought a Mitchell Synchro Transmission. The price of the Mitchell was a little over twice as much as the rebuild on the original.

In the middle of the two, is a rebuilt transmission from Synder's https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/product.htm?pid=978896&cat=0

But the Mitchell is so much better and worth the extra $$.

If you can't source good Hyatt originals somewhere then give Mac VanPelt at VanPelt Sales a shout. He has been in the early Ford transmission repair and part sales for a long time and would give you the straight answer on what reproductions he uses. Some are crap so just be aware.
